Kids Band Contest

Rules:

1. Registration: $25 To insure your space we must receive your $25 registration fee along with the completed contest form by August 31st, 2010. The contest is limited to the first ten bands who sign up. Download and print the official entry form (Click here).
2. Age: All Band members must be 16 years of age or under.
3. Size: Three band members minimum; Six band members maximum.
4. Deadline: Bands must Register no later than August 31st, 2010.
5. Instruments Allowed: Bands should be comprised of the acoustic instruments common in bluegrass, i.e. Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Fiddle, Dobro, Bass (Electric Bass is OK), Autoharp, Harmonica. No more than two of the same instrument is allowed in the band. Drum sets and electronic instruments are prohibited. Hand held percussive instruments such as the Bohdran or Tambourine are allowed.
6. Music Style: All forms of acoustic music are allowed, including, but not limited to, bluegrass, americana, roots, blues, oldtime, celtic, and irish.
7. Playing Order: Each band will be assigned a number, and a random drawing will determine playing order. All bands must be backstage and ready to play no later than 1:45.
8. Band Name: Each Band must have a band name and a chosen band leader.

Prizes:

Each band member in the contest will receive a signed Achievement Certificate. The top three bands will receive a trophy award plus a cash prize. The First Place winning band will play two songs on the Saturday Night Show as the warmup band for the Headline Act.
